President, Founder
Jay is the President and founder of BlueLine Conservation and the President of Norman Realty, a commercial land brokerage firm. Jay’s broad experience in all facets of real estate and his deep understanding of conservation finance continually prove to be invaluable to clients with even the most complex needs.
After founding BlueLine in 2005 to create a more dynamic market platform for Virginia Land Preservation Tax Credits, he has expanded services to include ecosystem services markets, mitigation bank establishment, and conservation finance consulting. Jay’s consulting work has taken him as far as Malaysia and Brazil.
Prior to founding BlueLine, Jay initiated the expansion of Norman Realty’s services, adding leasing and investment sales to Norman Realty’s long respected commercial real estate capabilities. Jay worked in commercial banking for First Union National Bank in Charlotte and Asheville, NC. A native of Fauquier County, Virginia, Jay is actively involved in the state and local community. He has served on the board of Fauquier Bankshares, Inc., Utron Inc., and in the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the George Mason University Foundation.
Jay lives in Warrenton, Virginia, and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, hiking, hunting, and following soccer. Jay graduated from Woodberry Forest School and is a 1984 graduate of Davidson College.
