BlueLine Urban Park Project Underway in Arlington

With the help of BlueLine’s real estate expertise, a private landowner overcame decades of lawsuits among government agencies to convey a property for a public water-sports activities on the Potomac River.

Years of lawsuits and development proposals surrounded a uniquely located parcel at the gateway to Key Bridge along the Potomac River in Arlington, Va.  Private landowners asked BlueLine Conservation to create a conservation based solution to enable sale of the property.  Through tripartite negotiations with The Conservation Fund, Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, and Arlington County, BlueLine (through its affiliate Norman Realty) successfully brokered the sale of the property to Arlington, for a proposed rowing river access and support facility.  Though construction will not begin for several years, the project is now a certainty.

While BlueLine’s current projects are as large as 250,000 acres, urban greenspace and access to nature are equally important to our work.  Over the years, BlueLine has developed an expertise in Urban easement projects.
